Fishing Report (catching) Week of September 6, 2013

Inshore: Sail ALL around on Ballyhoo and more larger Wahoo on rapalla as well as Spotted Mackarella (Pacific) and Mackarella Sierra (Great Shashimi). More Schools of larger Mahi hiding under logs and trashlines. Rooster using "butterflied" Bonita near Witches Rock at Palmyras and also South to Catalina. Skip Jack Cravelle (blanco carne) on poppers and rapalla. Bonita (Black Tuna) all over the place on all lures. Bottom fishing for Red Snapper available...but...save that for January...when the Mahi and Wahoo move way offshore...

Offshore 40 to 90 miles north: Captain Danny reporting loads of Sail, Larger Red Snapper 80+ lbs and Grouper on live bottom bate at 150 feet....

Offshore: North 15 miles.. (along the coast): Plenty of Sailfish, Large Wahoo, Larger Bull Mahi, and Rooster all on live Green Jack, Blue Runner and/or Ballyhoo at Black Rock and secret spots 15 to 20 miles North of Playas del Coco. Amber Jack, Cravelle and Red Snapper on vertical jigs also. Yellowfin on live bait and poppers... 30 miles west of Catalina Island along with Marlin and Sailfish on Ballyhoo. Large Grouper at Catalina at 200 feet on live bait
